"Bestie!"

Shalom called for the attention of her church member, course-mate and best-friend, Destiny. They were both loving inn one of the two-man rooms in Pearls Hostel. They are bonafide students of one of the private universities in Nigeria.

They are both godly. Infact, they both believe that their meeting was God-ordained. Since they turned best of friends (about 18 months ago), they have been growing in God, service to God, character, and so on.

But at the moment, an issue was on Shalom's mind. She had prayed about it and was expecting a response from God.

She just had the nudging to discuss it with Destiny as God might decide to speak to her through Destiny. That is actually ONE of the ways with which God speaks to her- through his children. 

In the past, there were many times God spoke to her that way. She found out that one way or the other, God would just respond to her through one of his children. The person would just say something in line with the issues on her mind, as if they had talked about it before. So beautiful!

"I don't think this girl heard me." She soliloquized.

"Bestie o! Are you there?"

"I'm coming." She shouted from the hostel kitchen. She walked into the room and shut the door behind her.

"I'm sorry. I heard you the other time. I was drinking water so I couldn't respond."

"Alright dear. I want us to talk about something."

"Shally baby, you know I love gists. Common, carry on. I am very interested."

"It's not a gist per say. It's a question."

"Okay... I'm all ears."

" As I was reading my bible this morning. I read about two people. I am confused. Why is it that God gives one information about the future when one is still in the present?"

"Repeat please. I didn't get that well."

"

Why is it that God gives one information about the future when one is still in the present?"

"Hmm. That question is deep sha."

Destiny's phone beeps. It's an alarm; it's 10pm.

"It's your prayer time!" Shalom said.

 "Yeah. Can we continue this discussion after our first lecture tomorrow?"

"Yeah. I can't hinder you from talking to your confidant. I don't mind. Tomorrow is fine. I will ask God the question again today."

"Alright dear. Ose."

[The next day, they were on their way back from the lecture room. Destiny advised that they stopped by at the Faculty of Engineering graden, an open place with chairs where people can meet with their friends to discuss.]

"Yesterday, you asked me why God reveals things to someone now, about one's future."

"Exactly. I want to know why."

"Who are the Bible characters you studied yesterday."

"Abraham and Joseph. God told Abraham that he was going to make of him a great nation. Joseph, as allowed by God, had a sneak peek into God's plan for him."

"Yeah."

"So, I'm wondering why God told then when the fulfillment was not until about 25 years and 13 years respectively."

"You know what, let me tell you the true story of a woman, Mrs Williams. I met her when I had not been admitted into this institution. She had been invited to speak to ladies and women in a three-day seminar that year. "

"Okay."

"Mrs Williams told us of how God had told how that she was going to have three children, long before she got married. He went ahead to tell her who they would become. When she decided to ask the Lord why he had told her, he made her know that she needed to pray his will to pass in the lives of the children as the devil would try to disrupt the plan. God encouraged her that, no matter what the devil did, she would still overcome. Mrs Williams said she, since then, took it upon herself to pray for her future children as God had instructed. She got married and gave birth to three boys. There were triplets. They were doing fine until when they travelled abroad to further their education. It was like the devil had won their hearts but God eventually brought them back. As at the time Mrs Wiliams was speaking, her children were already doing exploits for God in their respective countries."

"Wow! God shouldn't be questioned o. "

"True dear. He knows the end from the beginning. I will tell you another story. I heard it from one of my church members."

"Tell me please. I'm really fascinated by this discussion. "

"Glad to know. Thank God. It's a story of a lady. At age 18, before she began her undergraduate studies, God had already revealed the man she was going to get married to. She got so much details. God told her she was going to meet the man in the University. She got information about his height, age, complexion, name and his section of work in the fellowship she would attend in the university."

"That's awesome!"

"She was grateful to God for leading her and decided to ask him,to tell her why he had told her all of that."

"Did God tell her?"

"God is so merciful! He actually did. You want to know?"

"I really really want to know o!"

"God said that the devil would actually bring three so-called brothers her way who would look very spiritual. There were not who they were known to be, so in a bid to preserve her in his will, he had decided to make his mind known to her."

"Chai. The love of God is quite overwhelming!"

"It really is. Do you know that eveything God told her came to pass -that of the three brothers and the man that God had prepared for her? That's how intentional God is about all his children."

"Wow! Lord, I'm grateful. I do remember the story of Peter. Jesus had informed him about Satan's plan. He wanted him to be watchful."

"Exactly! When God gives us a sneak peek into the future like Joseph, Abraham or Peter, there is a purpose. God is intentional about the things he does and says." He may want us to have something to hold on to in trying times. It could be that he wants us to pray his MIND to pass. He may want you to INTERCEDE for that future spouse, the in-laws or children."

"That's true. I now understand so much."

"In sum, the fact that God decides to reveal his mind to us is a proof of his love for us. Therefore, we shouldn't take it for granted. We should rather learn to bridle our tongue. We don't have to tell everyone what God said. We should just trust in God, pray and keep holding on to his word, until the Appointed Season of Manifestation as he makes ALL things beautiful in his time."

"Thanks so much Bestie. This discussion blessed me."

"God be praised. Let's go home."

Curtain fades.

(It's morning, a day after they sat to discuss at the garden. They observed room morning-devotion. It was a wonderful time in God's presence as God encouraged them in His word that He is real and they should not stop seeking to know him more as those who seek will surely find. After prayers, Shalom calls for Destiny's attention as she has something to say to her.)

"Destiny, God is truly real. The Holyspirit woke me up to pray around 2pm. After prayers, as I was studying the Bible, I got another revelation regarding why God gives his children information ahead of time."

"Wow! Please share with me, Shalom."

"Okay. When God told Abraham that he was going to make of him a great nation, physically, he was nothing like it. Right?"

"Yes, he wasn't. At that time, he had no child yet."

"That's it. God sometimes gives us information about the future so that we can begin to see ourselves from His Lens i.e he wants us to see ourselves the way he sees us. He calls those things that be not as though they were according to Romans 4:17;"

"Hmm. The Lord wants us to see ourselves already in the future that he has prepared for us."

"Exactly. Destiny, God can tell you that, you are a voice that nations will listen to; a mother of nations; a carrier of his revival fire; an apostle, or a minister. He can as well tell you that you will lend to many nations. The truth is that your present situation may not be anywhere a true depiction of the information he gave you, but God never makes mistakes. He gave you that information so that you can walk into its reality. The information actually reveals what he wants you to be, do or achieve for his Glory. The information should spur you on to arise and take your place in Him and in his agenda for your life. You mustn't waste it. So, Arise and BE whom he has seen you BECOME."

"Amen. Lord, I refuse to settle for who I am now. I arise to become whom you have already seen me BEcome."

"We arise Lord . We will not waste the information. We arise."

They begin to pray fervently.
